Delegation from Universitas Airlangga visited Corrivod Hearing Center to explore audiological services, healthcare innovation, and hearing care supporting.

Beijing, China (16 July 2026) — A delegation comprising students from Universitas Airlangga’s KKN-BBK International 2026 Program Group 3 conducted an official visit to the Corrivod Hearing Center, where they were warmly welcomed by representatives from Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU). The center, which serves as an internship site for BLCU students, provided the delegation with an opportunity to observe clinical infrastructure, learn about professional hearing-care services, and understand operational standards in modern audiological care. The visit was part of a field-based learning activity aimed at exploring healthcare systems, technological innovation, and sustainable health practices while strengthening international academic exchange.

The tour covered four primary areas: the comprehensive examination room, the tinnitus rehabilitation room, the hearing assessment room, and the fitting room. Clinical staff guided the delegation through each station, demonstrating diagnostic instruments, explaining their practical functions, and detailing the patient journey from initial diagnosis to long-term treatment, follow-up, and hearing management. Students also observed how different facilities work together to ensure comprehensive and patient-centered care.

The students interviewed the center’s person-in-charge, who explained the facility’s rigorous procurement criteria and screening protocols. For individuals with normal hearing, the center recommends screening every three to five years for adults aged 18 to 40, every one to two years for those aged 40 to 50, and annually for those over 60 or with additional risk factors. For hearing-aid users, maintenance is required at least twice yearly, with quarterly deep-cleaning visits and annual reassessments to ensure optimal device performance and long-term hearing support.

Professor Lingzhi from BLCU noted the visit’s significance. “The professionalism and patient-centric protocols observed here are exemplary,” he said. “Understanding the continuum of hearing care is not just a clinical need but a public health priority.”

According to the WHO, over 430 million people currently live with disabling hearing loss—a figure projected to exceed 700 million by 2050. This activity supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by promoting universal health coverage, increasing awareness of hearing health, and encouraging access to quality audiological services for people of all ages.
